Description:
Trinity River restoration work performed entailed river rehabilitation activities in the riverine, upland, and in-channel areas including the natural resource specialty for ecological restoration and fish habitat creation activities. The objective is to establish fluvial processes and to improve the quality and quantity of habitat for anadromous fish along the Trinity River. Work performed included reporting, project layout, site preparation for floodplain enhancement, side channel development, alcove creation, large woody debris and boulder installation, contour grading, salvage and replanting of existing vegetation, spawning gravel (coarse sediment) processing, coarse sediment placement, and vegetation establishment.
